Volunteering for mentors from adult associations
Topic/ theme: Andragogy, self-directed learning and volunteering in adult education

Sending partners: educational organizations involved in formal, non-formal and informal
learning: adult training centers, youth centers resource centers, university and other relevant
organization active in the adult education field established in Erasmus+ program countries.
Participants: 10- 15 adults involved in education
Course fee:  According to the Erasmus+ guide, 80 euros / training day, including course
preparation, training, training materials, administration costs, organizational costs, 24 hours
emergency support.
Languages used: . The training materials will be provided in English.
Profile of the participants:
The participants are trainers, mentors workers with youth, people active in adult trainers in
the sending organization interested in growing a creative and intercultural environment in
their institutions, with or without previous experience, willing to develop themselves
professionally not only through the course, but by involving themselves in preparatory and
follow up activities. They must be interested in other cultures and in developing the
institution’s European dimension.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course is addressed to all people and organizations who want to involve volunteering in
their activities in the near future, but also to those who are already doing so.
We suggest taking this course if you want to develop your volunteer management skills and if
you want to discover the steps in volunteer coordination.
Also, in this course you will learn more about how to prepare your organization to carry out
volunteering projects.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of the course, each participant will be able to:
– to develop competences about Andragogy and critical and postmodern perspectives on adult
learning;
– to define andragogy and appreciate its approach in a free context,
– to become familiar with the theory of learning in the 21st century

– To learn how to involve/how to involve volunteers better/more effectively in the activities
within their organizations.
– To learn how to carry out a needs analysis in the organization for the involvement of
volunteers
– Learn how to prepare and work with a volunteer coordinator
– Learn how to budget for a volunteer program.
